A Unique Summer Program for Budding Young Engineers

Designed specifically for high school students, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Engineering & Technology program helps nurture the next generation of engineers and provides them with unique leadership skills for the future.

Over 8 days, participating in this interactive summer program will allow you to explore exciting areas like sustainable design, 3-D modeling, game and web development, robotics and many other fields of engineering, all while residing on a prestigious college campus.

About the Program

Participating in the wonderful engineering summer program, you will be taking part in workshops and simulations at an institution ranked among the top five engineering schools in the United States.

  • Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA)
  • The University of California, Berkeley (near San Francisco, CA)
  • The Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering (near Boston, MA)

Alongside learning more about engineering, the program will also help you to develop essential leadership, time management, information analysis, public speaking, critical thinking and problem solving skills that are becoming increasingly essential in today’s workforce.

Activities & Benefits

Participating in the NYLF Engineering & Technology will give you the opportunity to meet the next generation of innovators from all across the world. Benefits include:

  • Creating your own digital model and see a demonstration of 3D printing technology firsthand.
  • Fly model helicopters during the Helicopter Electronics Workshop by programming microprocessors, a workshop developed by Andrew Barry, a Ph.D. Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
  • Experience for yourself the unique college culture of America while living on campus at Georgia Tech, The University of California, Berkeley or Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, while exploring educational pathways that will lead to a fulfilling career.

You will be eligible to receive college credit from Loras College upon completion of the program. .
